Perfect Household Staff is pleased to present a live-in / live-out Housekeeper opportunity based in North Essex, working within a beautiful, traditional three-storey private residence featuring antique furniture and high-end finishes, including marble. The household is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced Housekeeper who takes pride in their profession and consistently delivers work of the highest standard.
The property comprises five bedrooms and four bathrooms across two main floors and a basement. The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth daily running of the household, including cleaning, laundry, ironing, and general organisation. A strong ability to manage household tasks independently is essential, as is a positive, can-do attitude. Daily cooking is required, with a focus on healthy meals including marinated fish, vegetables, and family-style dishes. Food shopping and pantry organisation will also be part of the role.
The candidate should be comfortable caring for two friendly Miniature Schnauzers, including letting them into the garden and basic pet care. A driving licence and own vehicle are required, and a valid DBS check must be in place. The family occasionally require ad-hoc childcare support, so a candidate who enjoys the company of children and is happy to step in when needed is highly preferred.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, from either 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role offers flexibility around family needs, particularly due to maternity arrangements. The position includes 20 days of paid holiday, and all contracts will be provided accordingly. Accommodation can be provided in a separate two-bedroom cottage, if live-in is preferred.
Previous experience working within formal homes in Essex or similar environments is desirable. Candidates must have a basic understanding of caring for delicate fabrics such as cashmere and an appreciation for the care of antique furnishings.
This is a long-term, permanent role offering a gross annual salary of £42,000 to £48,000 depending on experience. The position is available for an immediate start.
