Are you ready to work with us?
Do you have a passion for helping vulnerable people enjoy as much fulfilment as they can and feel included in their community? If compassion, care and inclusiveness are an important part of who you are, our opportunities to work away from the routine in a demanding, challenging but emotionally rewarding role could be for you.
Our Turning Point Scotland Services in North Ayrshire - Arran are looking for people like you to help provide individualised support to adults with a wide range of needs, either on an individual 1:1 basis or alongside others and as part of a team.
Turning Point Scotland’s North Ayrshire Prevention, Early intervention And Recovery (P.E.A.R.) Service is a drug and alcohol support service based in Arran. We involve all of the individuals who use our service to shape our service and benefit communities. They have an input into what activities we offer that will benefit them in their recovery and beyond. We offer 1-2-1 support, group work, therapeutic activities including relaxation and acu-detox in service and community settings. We are a very person-centred support service and stay in line with our logo “Your journey, your way. Your service, your say”
North Ayrshire P.E.A.R. Service works with people to take steps towards recovery. Each individual will create a personalised recovery action plan which will detail how they wish to work towards their recovery and the goals they want to achieve along the way. Individuals will receive support to explore their recovery options whilst working alongside other agencies, communities, families and other relevant groups. Those who use the service will also be encouraged and supported to improve and maintain relationships with family, friends and the community to reduce the impact of social isolation.
The North Ayrshire P.E.A.R. Service also operates family support groups open to anyone affected by someone else’s substance use.
The support we provide is always person centred, we do this by involving people who know the person well, this includes family and friends, other health and Social Work professionals, Advocacy services and our own staff members.
No previous working experience is needed; full training will be provided to you. We believe having the right values of respect, compassion, inclusion and integrity is all you need to join our team! We would offer you full support in completing your application.
As a Peer Support Practitioner, you will work with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing them with practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives e.g. keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing.
