Summary

Stanwell School is looking to appointment a Caretaker to join our friendly and professional premises team. The Caretaker will assist with the upkeep of the school premises and the evening running of our sports facilities, ensuring all activities are delivered to a high standard with safety as the first priority. This is an evening caretaker role either working full time 37 hours per week Monday to Friday 4:00 pm until 9:30pm and Saturdays 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. Or part time 18.5 hours per week on a job share basis.

Reporting to: School Business Manager & Site and Infrastructure Manager

Salary: NJC Grade 4 (Scale 5-7) £24,790 - £25,584 (hourly rate £12.85 - £13.26)

Contract: Full time 37 hours per week (Mon – Fri 4pm – 9:30pm and one Saturday a fortnight 8:30 am – 6:00 pm) plus cover for Sundays as and when required or Part time 18.5 hours per week on a job share basis (Mon – Fri 4pm – 9:30pm and one Saturday a fortnight 8:30 am – 6:00 pm) plus cover for Sundays as and when required. Permanent: Term time and school holidays

Essential attributes:

- Full standard driving licence and current driving experience with a willingness to train for a d1 category to drive the school minibuses.
- Knowledge and understanding of health & safety requirements
- Prepared to work antisocial hours as part of a shift pattern to cover extended opening hours.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- Excellent organisational and planning skills including the ability to be flexible in order to achieve targets
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Ability to form good working relationships with colleagues and external clients
- Use own initiative and solve problems independently (within the authority of the role)
- Ability to make proactive contribution to the work of the team supporting children, their families and carers through thinking, planning etc.
