To apply, please complete our application form in full via our careers website (see link below). As we use anonymous recruitment and do not accept CVs, it’s really important that you provide as much detail as possible in your application. We’re keen to understand your interest in the role and how you meet the requirements, so please make full use of the spaces provided to tell us about your experience, skills, and what makes you a great fit for our team.
Who are we?
We’re one of the top 30 housing associations in England, with homes spreading across London, Kent, Essex and Sussex. Our financial strength puts us in a good position to rise to challenges and plan for the future. Our purpose is to “open doors to better lives for our customers". We thrive to be customer pioneers; providing a great customer experience.
We are also proud to announce that we have been awarded an accreditation for ‘The Sunday Times Best Places to Work’ 2024, based on our employee feedback.
What we’re looking for?
We’re looking for someone experienced in delivering excellent allocations and lettings services for social and affordable rented homes, ideally in a social housing setting. You’ll work closely with colleagues to let both new build and relet homes efficiently and in line with turnaround targets, ensuring regulatory and health and safety requirements are met. Customer experience is at the heart of everything we do, so you’ll be customer focussed, easy to communicate with and adaptable to meeting the needs of individuals to provide fair access to housing.
In this role, you’ll be supporting and delivering the end-to-end lettings process, from customers leaving their current homes, to coordinating and signing up new and existing customers for their new home. You’ll understand the impact of housing for both the individual/household and the wider community, so you’ll match customers with homes based on priority, suitability, and tenancy sustainment. Your eye for detail and professional curiosity will enable you to complete through assessments of applicant information.
You’ll build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities to ensure lettings are delivered in line with contract and SLA arrangements (such as nomination agreements and local letting plans) and will work closely with partners to play your part to meet and exceed service standards and contribute to improving tenant satisfaction measures.
As an Allocations Officer, you’ll have the opportunity to truly impact peoples’ lives and help those in housing need to have somewhere to call home and be proud of. You’ll be part of a team that sets up the landlord and customer relationship for success by delivering a professional, responsive and welcoming service.
Entry requirements:
• A good standard of education with good written and verbal English and maths.
• Able to use MS Office suite, particularly MS Word and Excel, and experience of using housing management system, preferable CRM/Dynamics 365.
• Understanding of Landlord and Tenant legislation, relevant to types of tenure.
• Experience of lettings processes, ideally in a social housing environment, with experience of working with choice-based lettings, nominations from Local Authorities and rehousing options.
• An ability to manage own time, and structure and prioritise workload.
• Use of a car as this post requires significant travel and therefore attracts an Essential Car User Allowance.
• An ability to undertake work outside of normal office hours on occasion, to meet the needs of the business.
