Summary
To assess, develop and implement Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapy provision for children with SLCN including additional specialist intervention and support to children with one of more specific clinical areas e.g. Complex Needs, ASD, referred to the designated locality, presenting with a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties. To deal with initial complaints sensitively, avoiding escalation where possible. To act in specialist lead role within the Education team in one or more clinical specialties, e.g, dysphagia, autism, multi-sensory impairment, severe learning difficulties. Contribute to the design and implementation of measures to monitor and develop services including meeting high quality standards of care as set out in national and local policy, including that of the RCSLT, HCPC To adhere to relevant procedures including Safeguarding Children, SEN procedures and other legal framework.
