Summary

We are currently supporting our well-established Freight Forwarding client based in Bradford, who are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their existing team and cover the whole of the UK.

My client is looking for a self-starter, who can generate sales to achieve agreed targets, by introducing new customers, whilst maintaining and developing the existing client base, and visiting Customers on a regular basis.

The role will involve but will not be limited to:

· To generate and follow up sales leads, visiting potential and existing customers to obtain new business at reasonable profit.

· To develop and maintain effective business relationships with new and existing clients.

· To offer a high standard of customer service to customers, by demonstrating a professional, helpful and positive manner, taking responsibility to ensure that work passed onto others is of high quality.

· To undertake presentations, produce and present tenders and proposals for new business and provide quotations as required.

· Build relationships.

· Sales visits to generate business.

· To monitor and report on current developments in the market and information on competitors.

· To demonstrate effective time management, through efficient use of time and resources and well organised route planning.

· To build and maintain effective working relationships.

· Responsible for using in-house system to record all required information, and for ensuring that all other documentation, records, and systems are accurate and kept up to date.

· To prepare and present information for the management team as required, including the submission of weekly and monthly sales reports.

In return my client is offering a starting salary of up to £45,000 + Commission structure, along with company car/allowance. Free on-site car parking when in the office, however you will spend 50% of your week if not more on the road visiting and prospecting new clients. There are also multiple other incentives from working with this boutique freight forwarding company, which includes the chance to earn shares within the business through growth.

Their offices are based just off the M62 so is easily accessible from anywhere within West Yorkshire

To be considered for this role you must have a minimum of 3 years freight forwarding experience within a sales capacity (Air, Sea or Land considered, as my client offers all three)
