We have an exciting opportunity for Bank Catering Assistants to join our Catering team. This position is well suited to a hardworking, flexible person.
Job Role:
The post holder will assist in the preparation, distribution, and meal service to patients, staff, visitors, hospitality and any associated duties ensuring the correct and economical use of all products and equipment are adopted.
• Temperature probing of meals and the recording of this temperature and other temperatures in accordance with Catering department policies and procedures.
• The cleaning of premises and equipment to correct standards of cleanliness and frequencies laid down in the cleaning schedules and departmental hygiene policies and procedures.
• Safe operating and cleaning of automatic dishwashers.
• Safe usage of cleaning equipment and appropriate chemicals (COSHH).
• Disposal of waste materials as laid down in departmental policies and procedures (COSHH)
• To comply with the policy of HACCP (Hazard Analysis) and catering department codes of practice and adapt to any new food hygiene regulations.
• Plating and service of meals to patients and staff, visitors and hospitality.
• Delivery of food and beverages as required to any on site location setting up hospitality service as required.
• The issuing of certain food items to the wards with the subsequent correct storage, rotation and maintenance of minimum/maximum stock levels.
• Collection of patient information.
• Completion of any appropriate documentation as required.
• To deal with minor complaints as appropriate or report as necessary.
• To undertake other tasks as appropriate to grade directed by Supervisor on duty.
• May be required to work in any section of the department and perform other catering duties as required by catering management that are considered to be appropriate to the grade.
• Ensure the security of the department buildings and contents are secure at all times.
• Responsible for receipt, issue, and of storage of goods, ensuring that the delivery and storage temperatures are correct and those items are stored properly. Report poor quality products to a senior member of staff.
• To report any breakdowns of equipment and any maintenance requirements.
• Adhere to all catering and Trust wide procedures and policies.
• Ensure consistent satisfactory levels of service is provided on behalf of iFM Bolton Ltd at all times.
The Successful Candidate
The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, work well under pressure, able to work alone and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will also be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the service.
This role is subject to Standard DBS disclosure.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
• General school education
• Foundation Food Hygiene Certificate level 2 (Will be provided if not achieved at the point of recruitment)
• Experience of working within the food industry
• Experience of working within the healthcare environment
• A proven understanding of the value of customer services
• Numeracy and literacy skills.
