Summary

I am seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist with expertise in Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) and proficiency in Heidenhain control systems. The ideal candidate will also possess a strong engineering background, enabling them to understand complex technical drawings, optimize machining processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This role is critical in ensuring the production of high-precision components to exact specifications in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Set up, program, and operate CNC Vertical Machining Centers using Heidenhain controls.
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency, quality, and cycle times.
- Select appropriate tooling and workholding methods to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes.
- Perform in-process inspection and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machines and associated equipment.

Requirements:

- Minimum of 3–5 years' experience as a CNC Machinist working with Vertical Machining Centers.
- Strong proficiency with Heidenhain control systems - DESIRABLE
- Engineering background (formal education such as a degree/diploma, or significant relevant experience).
- Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings, GD&T, and specifications.
- Knowledge of cutting speeds, feeds, and tooling best practices for various materials (e.g., aluminum, stainless steel, titanium).
- Skilled in manual inspection techniques using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
