Summary


This is an exciting opportunity to join our children’s community team. This role will be supporting children’s sleep clinics, in Nottinghamshire. We work with many children and young people to offer a holistic sleep plan to help support an increase in sleep & improve sleep patterns and routines. We will offer ongoing sleep training and support in this role. We are looking for someone who is experienced in sleep support or ideally looking for a care support worker who has experience in working with children and young people and supportively involved in behaviour management with an understanding of neurodiverse conditions.
• You will be supporting in managing sleep hygiene routines with children and families and giving advice over the telephone as well as supporting in face to face in clinics, as well as been actively involved in supporting sleep workshops to educate parents and carers.
• You will be able to complete all appropriate records/report writing and document in individual sleep care plans. You will ensure confidentiality with all cases and treat all patients and families with compassion, empathy and be supportive to meet the needs of the patients and families.
• You will have experience in managing safeguarding referrals and support individual caseloads of patients, with an overview from the sleep practitioner.

This is currently a fixed term post we are wanting to expand further in the future, for the suitable candidate.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, forward thinking, caring individuals who are committed to providing a high standard of safe quality patient care. We are looking for a care support worker with experience in working with children and young people, and there parents/carers.

You will take part in running clinics and workshops on a daily basis to support educating & supporting children with poor sleep routines. You will help adapt sleep plans around neurodiverse needs and have a good understanding of ADHD and ASD.

As you will be delivering hands on patient care within our paediatric sleep clinics , we are looking for excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with members of the public and the hospital multidisciplinary team.

You will need to:
• Be prepared to undertake pre-employment checks, which can last a number of weeks and includes a medical and criminal record check & enhanced DBS.
• Be prepared to travel to alternate clinic sites to support workshops and face to face clinics.
• Have experience in report writing and documenting telephone and face to face contact with patient/parents.
