We are looking for an experienced, creative and dedicated HLTA join our growing, highly valued team. The could be an ideal opportunity for a Teaching Assistant that would like to progress their career, or a HLTA that would like to take the next step.
At Esland Grantham School, we offer high-quality education to 7 to 18-year-olds with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) with the primary need of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).

What we need from you:
We are looking for a patient and consistent HLTA who can work independently and take initiative while developing purposeful, strong relationships with children, staff and parents. Experience in post 16 support, ASD and ADHD would be advantageous but not essential.
The duties of a Higher Level Teaching Assistant include (but are not limited to):
Contributing to the development and effective delivery of childcare and manage processes and procedures in line with the philosophy of the company including
Being alert to signs of distress or abuse
Talking and listening to the young people and observing and recording behaviour when necessary
Contributing to and implementing care planning, reviews and other meetings
Attending and contributing to supervisions and staff meetings as required, ensuring smooth and comprehensive handovers take place and ensuring reporting rules and guidelines are adhered to
Being prepared to physically intervene and restrain young people (following appropriate training)
Undertaking all tasks and duties as directed by the school's leadership team, to support young people and manage and monitor pupil risk during educational activities
Participating and supporting young people during outdoor/ indoor activities
Preparing and presenting displays of student work
Working with other professionals, such as Therapists and Occupational Therapists, Residential Care Workers as necessary

Skills Knowledge and Expertise:
GCSE Level including Math, English & Science (essential)
Teaching assistant experience (essential)
Experience in supporting young people who have SEND/SEMH (highly desirable)
Teaching assistant qualification (desirable)
Proven experience in working in an education setting (essential)
Proven experience in working with young people that challenge (essential)
Sound curriculum knowledge
Excellent planning and organisational skills
Full manual driving licence (desirable due to activities/location)
