Degree Apprenticeships combine working and university, in a great opportunity where you’ll earn a salary, get work experience, and finish the apprenticeship with a degree – which you won’t have to pay a penny for!

We will provide a fully paid 4-year Apprenticeship to help you gain a Degree specialising in Software Engineering and provide hands on working experience.

Day to day, you’ll work within our internal software development team and your role will consist of working within an agile team to create and improve on new and existing features. Utilizing technologies (CSS, HTML, Typescript, Github and more) to manage and improve projects.

You’ll spend 20% of your working week studying with lots of support from Senior Software Developers, your line manager and Apprenticeship provider. We will even build in career progression and promotion opportunities for you at the end of the 3 years!

The L6 Apprenticeship in Computing (Software Engineering) (BSc Hons) will be delivered by the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD).

Candidates will be expected to start in this role by w/c 1st September with the apprenticeship starting 22nd September 2025.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure work aligns with agreed methodologies (including Agile/ Scrum)
  • Support, maintain and enhance existing products and applications, including diagnosis and resolution of problems in a live environment
  • Developing and testing new and existing features
  • Use range of databases, operating systems and web based programming languages such as PHP, Java, JavaScript, HMTL and Typescript.

Whilst we welcome applications from those looking to work with us on a part time basis, there is a business requirement, for the successful candidate to be able to work at least 30 hours per week.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must have:

  • A Level 3 qualification in a relevant IT / Digital subject
    • This may include 2 A-Levels (1 of these A levels must be in an IT / Digital subject), BTEC, Diplomas and related Level 3 advanced apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications.
  • GCSE grade A*-C (grade 9-4 in England) in English and Mathematics (or equivalent)
  • Be aged 18 or over at the start of employment (there is no upper age limit).
  • Have the permanent right to work in the UK and have been ordinarily resident in the UK/EU/EA for 3 consecutive years before starting the apprenticeship.
  • Have left full-time education by the time the apprenticeship starts and not be in receipt of funding for other learning programmes (including another apprenticeship.

In addition:

If you currently hold or are working towards a similar qualification of the same level or higher, then you will not be eligible to apply for this vacancy. In order to be eligible for our apprenticeship vacancy, any qualifications previously held or currently being worked towards must differ in content so that this apprenticeship provides substantial new skills. Additionally you must not already be over-qualified or over-experienced in this type of work.
