Summary
As a Business Analyst in DWP Digital you will play a key role in delivering change within the department.
We have vacancies in a number of areas within DWP Digital including:
- Bereavement and Care services - responsible for running and transforming digital services for some of our most vulnerable citizens.
- Working Age Services - delivers services to help people find work, progress in work, and support those who are vulnerable or unable to work.
- Retirement Digital - has responsibility for multiple services providing key support to citizens in the lead up to and beyond State Pension age.
- Health & Disability Service - including, the ongoing Digital transformation supporting the Access to Work grant; digital end to end transformation of a DLA Child Benefit; developing a new digital service to help medical practitioners to provide critical information to DWP for terminally ill people and continuous improvement and support services to ensure business needs are met.
- Collaboration and Communication Service – managing a range of products mainly focused on the Microsoft 365 suite including the adoption of Microsoft Copilot generative AI capabilities within DWP.
- Citizen Information – responsible for maintaining and protecting personal information, alongside delivering innovative solutions to maximise data solutions within DWP.
- The Garage - an innovative team working within DWP Digital to create robust solutions. Utilising everything from Robotic Processing up to Generative AI.
- Fraud & Error Digital - working closely with counter-fraud practitioners and stakeholders across DWP to develop and maintain effective fraud and error solutions.
- Health and Disability Delivery Team and the Functional Assessment Service - responsible for the management of several IT assets supporting DWP’s most vulnerable customers
You will be given the opportunity to continue to grow your capabilities skills and knowledge through working with Senior/ Lead BAs and the support of the wider community of practice.
You may also, be responsible for managing Junior (Associate) BAs to develop your management and coaching skills.
Please note - As part of the role, you may be required to travel regularly to the other digital hubs. The frequency of this will be discussed further should you be successful.
As a BA working within DWP Digital, you will:
Working within a transformational multi-disciplinary team, alongside roles including User Researchers, Developers & QAs.
May be working within either an Agile or more traditional delivery team.
Translate business problems and user needs into a set of detailed requirements to deliver value and great outcomes for our users.
Lead workshops, interviews, focus groups and utilise other BA techniques to effectively understand the business problems and user needs.
Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships. communicating effectively across both technical and business stakeholders and ensuring the understanding
of requirements and acceptance criteria is aligned.
Gain a good understanding of the business processes and activities that impact and that are impacted by the product or service. Selecting the appropriate best practice techniques to model business processes, in order to identify potential process improvements.
Collaborate with the Product Owner to agree a suitable mix of epics, features & stories for each sprint, as well as contributing towards prioritisation activities.
Take ownership for improving your own knowledge of Business Analysis tools and techniques and will play an active role within the BA community including coaching and supporting other members, as appropriate.
