Summary
We are looking for a Cardiac Physiologist who is ready to take the next step in their development to join our team at Harefield Hospital (Part of Guys and St Thomas' Foundation Trust). The candidate should be a qualified Cardiac Physiologist with clinical skills and knowledge in both non invasive and invasive cardiology including CRM although full training will be given.
Harefield Hospital is a specialist heart and lung hospital and transplant center. Within the cardiac catheter labs we operate a very busy primary service with a door to balloon time of 27minutes- the candidate would be required to participate in the provision of a 24/7 on call rota. TAVI and other structural procedures are performed routinely along with all diagnostic and interventional cardiac investigations.
This role attracts RRP of £5,275 in addition to the basic salary (not pensionable), which is subject to review in June 2025
To be a clinical role model who assists in the provision of running an efficient and effective cardiac physiology service at Harefield Hospital.
Able to perform all non invasive investigations without supervision - this includes ECGs, 24 hour holter and BP monitoring both fitting and analysis and supervising exercise tests.
Provides technical support for a full range of routine and complex invasive diagnostic and interventional cardiac investigations within the cardiac catheter laboratory - this includes diagnostic angiography, right heart studies with blood analysis and haemodynamic calculations, cardiac biopsies, complex PCI and CTO procedures using laser, shockwave and rotablation, IVUS, OCT and pressure wire studies as well as structural heart procedures including TAVI and mitral clip procedures, PFO closures. Has knowledge of all equipment required for these procedures and is able to set up, maintain and perform first line troubleshooting of this equipment. Full training will be given in all the above procedures until the applicant has achieved required competencies.
Provides technical support in device implants which includes
pacemakers, complex devices and lLRs. Able to perform device follow ups face to face in pacing clinics and through remote monitoring. Again full training will be provided.
To play a role in the training, continuing professional development and overall performance of student and junior physiologists in the department.
