Summary

A specialist equipment manufacturer in Abingdon is experiencing increased customer demand and is now seeking a Team Leader to support and guide a skilled team of Assembly Operatives. This role is perfect for someone with a strong background in mechanical and electrical assembly, who is also confident leading and motivating a team in a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small team of operatives to ensure daily production targets and quality standards are met
  • Support with the wiring of systems and products using electrical drawings and technical instructions
  • Oversee and participate in the mechanical assembly of components and full systems
  • Train and mentor team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Monitor workflow, identify areas for improvement, and liaise with supervisors to resolve issues
  • Ensure all health, safety, and quality control procedures are followed

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in an assembly role, with strong wiring and hand soldering skills
  • Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and instructions
  • Effective communicator, able to coordinate across departments and with senior management
  • Proactive, organised, and supportive team leader who leads by example
