Summary
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to: Providing expert nursing advice and clinical input to the development, implementation and monitoring of systems that ensure the effective delivery of high-quality primary healthcare. This including improving access, patient experience and outcomes and development of patient services. Providing expert nursing advice and clinical input to the continuous improvement of services including healthcare governance, risk management, health and safety and patient partnership. Working closely with the Head of the Primary Medical Care Team to develop and deliver improvement plans, re-modelling services and roles to ensure maximum efficiency in respect of clinical services in primary healthcare ensuring that all contractual and performance targets are met. Coordinating and facilitating the development of clinical pathways ensuring compliance with Defence and relevant national service frameworks, the National Institute for Clinical Excellence and evidence-based practice. Lead nursing teams in the review of patient pathways and in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team facilitate improvement in patient access/experience and drive innovation and service improvement within clinical practice. Directing, leading and motivating the nursing team to ensure a culture of continuous improvement and innovation through the setting of a high standard of professionalism, efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery, ensuring that activity is aligned to DPHC objectives. This will include coaching and mentoring, resource planning, standard setting, performance management, team, and individual development. Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
