Summary
Your working day will consist of a mixture of face to face and telephone consultations and associated administrative work, in addition to - occasional home visits (we have Home Visiting paramedics employed each day but some EOL visits require a GP to attend) - filing lab results (your own and a share of absent colleagues') - signing prescriptions (your own and a share of absent colleagues') - potential supervision of students / registrars - potential management of a care home (we look after 7 large care homes) Our GPs work in sessions. Each session consists of 13 appointment slots for a mixture of telephone or F2F appointments plus an additional 2 "GP only to book" slots for your personal use. GPs may choose their own appointment length. We have a mixture of GPs who prefer 10, 12 or 15 minute slots. We have a Duty Doctor rota, which equates to roughly one day per fortnight, where the rota'd GP works with a Duty Back Up to provide same day urgent only care for our patients in 2 sessions of 15 slots for appointments and tasks with no routine appointments on these days.
