Summary
Job title: Personal Assistant (PA)
Reporting to: The Employer
Location: Cutnall Green, Droitwich Spa WR9
Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the employer who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
About the employer:
Our client is a 44-year-old male living in the Cutnall Green area of Droitwich Spa. Our client is looking to employ a Personal Assistant to provide support for 6 hours per week.
Our client is Deaf but very independent and requires minimal support to maintain their independence.
Main duties:
Social duties:
keep in touch and socialise with family and friends
support to access the local community
Domestic duties: support with weekly grocery & household shopping. Support with administrative tasks such as paying bills, arranging medical appointments and general telephone calls.
These duties may vary from day-to-day.
Type of person that you/they are looking for:
Values someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel, understands equality and diversity.
Specific requirements: Level 3 BSL qualification required. PA must have British Sign Language Interpreter qualification – Ideally NVQ 6. Must be a driver.
Hours of work: 6 hours per week
Rate of pay: £12.50 per hour

Essential:
driving licence
car and appropriate insurance
Level 3 BSL Qualification
British Sign Language Interpreter qualification – NVQ 6
confidentiality
good at building relationships
good on the telephone
Preferred:
computer literate
good communicator
ability to support people with complex support needs
Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.
This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
