Role:

We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive Outdoor Education Assistants to join our SEMH schools in Eastleigh and Southampton. These schools cater specifically to pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as complex educational needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact and help develop the lives of vulnerable young people.

As an Outdoor Education Assistant, you will work with a dedicated team, supporting students who have been excluded from mainstream education. The school offers a dynamic Active Curriculum, including activities such as cycling, orienteering, multi-sports, and more, all designed to engage students and promote their well-being and development.

This role is an excellent fit for graduates seeking a career in teaching or those from a sports coaching background, especially those with coaching badges.

Responsibilities:

Provide support for outdoor activities as part of the school's Active Curriculum.

Assist students with SEMH and complex needs in both classroom and outdoor settings.

Work closely with a supportive team to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:

Ideally, experience within the SEN sector, though a positive attitude and desire to learn is equally valued.

Previous experience supporting students with challenging behaviour is beneficial.

Strong energy and enthusiasm for working with students with SEMH.
