Summary
These 2 posts (one of Suffolk ward and one on Sussex ward) have previously been filled by CT1-3 trainees on rotation.
We have not been able to have trainees allocated to these posts for the last 1-2 years as there isn’t a substantive consultant in post on either of the wards. The posts have thus been filled by locum agency doctors and more recently doctors employed on a fixed term contract (Dr Adaobi Unakalamba on Sussex ward and Dr Amira Baliram on Suffolk ward).
We now wish to employ doctors on a permanent/substantive basis on both wards – 2x WTE posts.
The posts have become available as the two wards are no longer hosting Core Psychiatry Trainees due to relocation of training posts. The posts have been filled over the past year by doctors employed on a fixed term contract. These posts are available as full-time post and will involve working on either of the 2 wards (either Suffolk or Sussex ward). Each of the two posts would offer 10 Programmed Activities per week – 8 PAs for direct clinical care (DCC) and up to 2 PAs for supporting professional activity (SPA).
