Personal Assistants can make a positive difference every day to the lives of the people they support. No two days are the same for Personal Assistants but what you can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
The people Personal Assistants support have varied interests and hobbies and have the same dreams and aspirations as you do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these opportunities. A career as a Personal Assistant is as rewarding as it is diverse, as they have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people they support.
Let us introduce you to Robert:
Robert enjoys having fun and laughing. He has a bubbly and engaging personality and loves his staff to join in with his interests. Routine is important to Robert; he likes to know what he is doing each day. A typical day when supporting Robert could be going to the shops to ensure Robert has all the essentials he needs, driving Robert in his own car. Robert enjoys his computer and watching football.
Robert receives support 7 days a week usually between the hours of 8 am and 9pm. Sadly, it’s not always possible for Robert to enjoy what many people would consider these ‘simple pleasures’ without proper, dedicated support.
That is why Robert needs you! Will you bring your best so that Robert can live his best life?
You will provide care and assistance within Robert’s home, including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements, shaving)
Assisting with medication

Assisting in the community
Moving and assisting - pushing manual wheelchair only when power chair broken, using manual hoist/tracking hoist, using the steady.
Household tasks and shopping
Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living.
As Roberts Personal Assistant you will support and encourage him to be involved in activities suited to his needs. Currently Robert is looking for someone to join his team to cover 10 hours, with12 hours available Monday to Saturday and a further 5 hours available on a Sunday. You will be part of a team of Personal Assistants for Robert, and a degree of flexibility on working additional hours is essential.
