Summary
Strawberry picking: May-Oct*
Rasp picking: June-Oct*
Physical Stamina: This work will involve heavy lifting (e.g. tray of strawberries/raspberries weigh up to 5 kg), trays of picked fruit, a lot of bending, crouching and stretching will be involved on a frequent basis so requires someone who is physically strong, dexterous and able to perform repetitive tasks.
Accuracy: Fruit pickers must carefully, yet quickly, inspect fruit for signs of bad quality fruit.
This is a temporary full-time role, 5-6 working days a week, including Saturdays, Sundays (weather permitting). Applicants need to be ready for early starts from 5am throughout the crop season and willing to work in poor weather conditions, as well as in hot weather and mud.
* 5.6 weeks' pro rata paid holiday a year
* Paid weekly - Minimum £12.21 per hour worked
Majority work on piecework basis
