Summary
Male only Personal Care Assistants / Support Workers required to assist a young adult male with Autism, Epilepsy and Severe Communication Disorder living in the Ferniegair - Hamilton area.
You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within the family home and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting, shaving, brushing teeth)
Preparing meals and healthy snacks (assistance with eating)
Assistance with traveling to and from college
Walking, Cycling, football and assisting with participation in these physical activities
Moving and assisting - pushing manual wheelchair
Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
Driver essential and you will be required to use your own vehicle – mileage allowance will be paid.
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
Favourite activities are drawing and colouring pictures, watching Disney clips on YouTube, swimming, listening to music, horse riding, sensory experiences.
Experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)
Recruiting for one position for a casual worker which may lead to permanent.
Days and times:
Wednesday and Friday: 10AM – 3PM
Overtime will be available – to be discussed at interview
Hourly rate:
£15.00 per hour
