Summary
CFCD Operations are undergoing a huge transformation, delivering new legislation, new case management systems and transformative processes and protocols to become more agile in the prevention and detection of fraud and error.
Our Departmental priorities help us focus our efforts on what will make the biggest difference to our customers, taxpayers and citizens in the years ahead.
Our key priorities, to deliver benefit fraud savings of over £1bn per year and prosecute the most serious fraudsters, means delivering service transformation, working with enabling partners and benefit delivery lines to refine the systems to prevent more fraud error and debt occurring by being adaptable, working flexibly and resourcing to risk.
Key tasks include:
- As a member of our leadership team, you will have excellent communication skills, able to communicate confidently, articulating DWP’s vision supported by senior leaders.
- Supporting development and leadership for your team, embedding new ways of working and fostering a culture of ‘One Team’ which includes wider teams across DWP.
- You will role model the Civil Service behaviours.
- You will develop a wide range of projects; therefore, a knowledge or experience of counter fraud strategies and approaches is essential.
- You will need to be flexible and deliver the core services determined by DWP’s strategic vision.
- Provide visible and proactive leadership to effectively manage operational needs and impacts with stakeholders to effectively transform our services.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate risk to the successful delivery of operational objectives.
- Work collaboratively with the national, regional and functional leads.
- Actively participate in the Modernisation Programme supporting the delivery of our objectives to successfully implement improvements to our systems, new digital products and the legislative changes being introduced by the Public Authorities (Fraud, Error and Debt) Bill.
- Develop and maintain a network of stakeholders who will support the delivery of our modernised services.
- Support business change; through the planning, implementation, and embedding, of new policies and procedures.
- Working at pace to deliver high quality products to tight timescales, multi-tasking between competing priorities.
- Flexibility and a proactive approach, working closely with colleagues and having an awareness of wider, long-term aims for CFCD.
- Due to the nature of the role and the geographically dispersed team, this role will require travel and overnight stays.
