Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to work within our Barnet Talking Therapies Team. The role is primarily clinical in nature and will draw on assessment and psycho-education skills for our clients, and involve working closely with clinicians in the team.
Your primary duties will involve supporting with psychological assessments, providing psycho-education for our clients, co-facilitation of treatment, and involvement in service audits and projects. All clinical work will be completed under close supervision of a CBT therapist and there will be CPD opportunities to enhance your clinical practice.

This role will develop clinical assessment skills, and support the development and delivery of psychoeducational groups and workshops, as well as some 1:1 work with clients. You will support audits and service development projects, build relationships with partner organisations and other community groups.
You will have excellent communication skills and a real interest in and knowledge of working with adults experiencing a range of mental health difficulties and psychosocial problems in a primary care setting. Enthusiasm, confidence and the ability to work flexibly and without close direction are essential.
Barnet Talking Therapies offers psychological assessments and treatments to patients across the borough of Barnet. We support adult clients with primary care mental health difficulties offering a range of therapies within the service. Barnet has a diverse population and we are proud to be a diverse team.
The Barnet Talking Therapies Team is based at Edgware Community Hospital. You may also work in community settings. Currently we are working in a hybrid way; working remotely with at least two days in the clinic (with additional days on site where required). You will be required to work one evening shift per week (12pm-8pm).
We will ensure you have a committed team to work with including a peer group of Assistant Psychologists, Psychological Well Being Practitioners, CBT therapists and Counsellors with the opportunity to help us shape and develop the service as it expands.You will be able to access training and staff development, as well as our robust supervision and governance systems.
