Skills & Experience:
A thorough understanding of relevant SEND legislation, statutory guidance, and the procedures for developing EHC plans.
Experience of working within a SEND Team and writing robust good quality EHC Plans
Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
Proficient in using IT systems and software for managing records, writing reports, and ensuring that all documentation is up to date and accessible.
What's involved with this role: As an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan Writer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality, accurate, and legally compliant EHC plans for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
You will work closely with families, education providers, health services, and social care professionals to ensure that individual needs are met in accordance with the SEND Code of Practice. The role involves managing the process of assessment, coordinating services, and ensuring that plans reflect the holistic needs of each child or young person.
Key duties:
Develop comprehensive EHC plans by gathering and analyzing relevant information from various sources to ensure the plans are accurate, clear, and legally compliant.
Collaborate with families, educational institutions, healthcare professionals, and social care teams to ensure the plans reflect the child or young person’s needs and aspirations.
Continuously monitor and revise EHC plans to accommodate any changes in needs or circumstances, ensuring that all stakeholders are kept informed and involved.
Ensure all EHC plans meet legal requirements and are completed within the statutory deadlines, adhering to the guidelines set out in the SEND Code of Practice.
Offer advice and guidance to families, schools, and other professionals regarding the EHC plan process, helping to ensure clear communication and a focus on achieving the best possible outcomes for the child or young person.
