Summary
Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence* and have use of a vehicle. You cannot use public transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs. To be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of podiatric care to a variety of patients with a wide range of clinical needs. To be responsible for the assessment and diagnosis of patients with subsequent production of individual treatment plan and be able to manage the day to day running of a busy clinic. To participate in the departmental rota for nail surgery as appropriate. Assessment and identification of risk factors, categorising patients into appropriate risk banding as defined by the service assessment matrix. To participate in the Feet Focus caseload. To be responsible for the day-to-day planning of personal workloads for the completion of home visits and visits to residential homes for the elderly and care centres. To be actively involved in the provision of foot health education advice to patients, relatives and carers, to participate in foot health training where appropriate for Primary Care and Social Care staff. To be actively involved in the development of departmental policies, guidelines and protocols. To be responsible for the maintenance and security of stock and equipment as appropriate. To follow departmental policies, standard operating procedures and guidelines using discretion to make own clinical diagnosis and decisions within professional boundaries. To be able to treat patients who may be immobile, wheelchair or bed-bound as appropriate. To be flexible and provide cover for other Podiatrists at short notice or during periods of absence in other local areas and to undertake any other duties that may be required from time to time. To ensure all duties are carried out to the highest standard and in accordance with current quality initiatives within local areas.
