Summary
As our Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our HSE Team. Your responsibilities will include:
Safety First!: Provide expert H&S compliance advice to our business, ensuring everyone knows the rules of the road (and the workplace).
Audit & Investigate: Conduct thorough H&S compliance audits and incident investigations to pinpoint issues and implement effective corrective actions.
Mentor & Inspire: Guide employees at all levels to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement in our management systems.
Risk Assessments Galore: Undertake and review risk assessments, compile method statements, and manage conformity to keep our operations running smoothly.
Data Detective: Carry out incident investigations (accidents, service strikes, and near misses) and maintain statistics to track our safety performance.
Compliance Guru: Conduct compliance evaluations and maintain a detailed legal register to ensure we're always in line with regulations.
Team Player: Collaborate with contracts managers and supervisors to ensure our H&S policies and procedures are adhered to throughout all business activities.
Report to Success: Work closely with our expanding Health and Safety team to report on QHSE performance to the H&S Manager.
To hit the ground running, you should have:
Qualifications: Ideally a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, or at least a NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
Experience: Previous experience as a Health and Safety Advisor/Manager in a highways or civil background is a must.
Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of CDM and Temporary Works.
Expertise: Proven experience in providing sound health and safety advice, drafting safe systems, and implementing controls on civil engineering sites.
License to Drive: A full UK driving license is essential for this role.
