About the role

Whilst the finance team is relatively small, they achieve big things! Previous finance experience in a similar role is essential as you will have responsibilities which include balance sheet reconciliations including inter-company balances, production of monthly management accounts including reconciliations and journals, preparing group budgets and forecasts as well as ensuring the accuracy of VAT records. You’ll be heavily involved in producing financial information and analysis and will ensure that all accounting policies are implemented in line with the requirements of FRS102 and Charities SORP. As well as managing the fixed asset register (capitalisation and depreciation) you will also carry out the ledger closing process on a monthly basis and through to year end on Sage.

About you

An accountancy qualification is an essential requirement for this role, and experience of Sage 200 is highly desirable. You will have experience with analysing and reporting of Stock and Cost of Sales within a Trading Entity. You should have a proven record of accomplishment in the production of statutory and management accounting in a complex group environment and be highly competent in relation to charitable statutory requirements. You will need a high level of IT proficiency and the ability to manipulate data using pivot tables and look-ups. You will be able to communicate at all levels and explain financial information which is clear and understandable to non-financial stakeholders. Our ideal candidate will also have sound analytical skills, the ability to inform decision making and recommend solutions. It is highly recommended that you read the full role profile and person specification which is available to download on our website www.rafa.org.uk
