Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Manchester - Build (fit-out)

A fit-out contractor based in Manchester is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team. They carry are the fit-out arm for a marking leading build contractor for new build high-rise residential developments in the North-West.

About the role : Assistant Quantity Surveyor

As the Quantity Surveyor, you'll report to the Commercial manager. You and the commercial team oversee numerous projects with a total value ranging upto the £100m mark.

You will need to report to the Head office Monday-Friday - 100% office/site based role.

The company are growing rapidly and have a large forward order book of leading construction projects with an opportunity to progress over the next couple of years.

Responsibilities for Assistant Quantity Surveyor

  • Costing: Accurately pricing the costs of materials, labour and equipment required for each project and submitting quotations for works. Ensuring scheme costs are correct on the system and raising queries where necessary.
  • Tender Preparation: Preparing and reviewing tender documents
  • Supplier and Subcontractor relations: Liaise with operational staff, including clients and subcontractors. Attending internal / external meetings when necessary and fostering good relationships. Manage the subcontract supply chain, issuing orders and the processing of payments.
  • Contract Management: Administering contracts and variations ensuring compliance.
  • Cost Control: Implementing effective cost control measure to optimise project outcomes.
  • Project Reporting: Regular reporting on financial progress, potential risks and cost saving opportunities to management.
  • Budget Management: Collaborating with Project Managers to establish and maintain budgets throughout the project life cycle.
