Summary
We are looking for a dynamic individual who will provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessments for patients attending Accident and Emergency (A&E), Acute Medical Units (AMU), the Frailty clinic and Frailty Assessment Unit (FAU) . The aim will be to ensure all patients receive specialist review, as early as possible, and that resources are deployed to avoid admission or reduce length of stay.

• You will have significant experience working effectively at Band 6/7 level in an NHS acute setting, or equivalent, working with older adults with a variety of conditions. You will have highly specialist current knowledge and skills related to the management of complex conditions within the specialty
• You will have a dynamic approach to work and be capable of leading a team, including in times of change. You will be expected to manage the daily running of the team to ensure the delivery of high quality patient-centred care within the specialty.
• This role has a strong clinical focus: You will use advanced clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist support and advice to the integrated therapy team (occupational therapy and physiotherapy) whilst maintaining a clinical caseload of complex patients as an autonomous practitioner.
• You will take part in the weekend and Bank Holiday rota.
• Work as an advanced autonomous practitioner: Assesses, sets goals, provides treatment and progresses own patient caseload which contains patients with complex and specialist needs.
• Lead in specialist area; contributes to development of specialist services and relevant policies helping implement policy changes and monitoring standards of clinical practice.
• Supervise, teach, and evaluate students and other staff working in own specialist area.
