Summary
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mentor to support and guide children in their personal and educational development. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children, particularly those requiring additional behavioural support. This role involves fostering a nurturing environment where children can thrive, learn, and develop essential life skills.
Duties
Provide one-on-one mentoring to children, focusing on their individual needs and goals.
Utilise applied behaviour analysis techniques to promote positive behaviour management.
Develop and implement engaging educational activities tailored to each child's learning style.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and educators to ensure a collaborative approach to development.
Assist in the delivery of speech therapy sessions as needed, supporting children's communication skills.
Create a safe and inclusive environment that encourages exploration and learning.
Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback and support for continuous improvement.
Maintain accurate records of mentoring sessions and children's development milestones.
Requirements
Proven experience in mentoring or working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.
Familiarity with applied behaviour analysis and behaviour management strategies.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children.
Experience in preschool settings is highly desirable.
Knowledge of speech therapy techniques is an advantage but not essential.
A genuine passion for educating and supporting children's growth and development.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
