About us
An exciting opportunity for a part-time Assessment Advisor has become available within the Salford Assist Team offering support and advice to people who are in need of various forms of support. The role involves undertaking a holistic assessment and evaluation of applications made to the service, ensuring scheme criteria is applied and making informed decisions on the course of action to be taken.
About the Role
The Assessment Adviser position is an extremely busy role and there is an expectation that the post holder is able to manage their own workload and yet work as part of a team, to ensure all the responsibilities and deadlines in relation to supporting the service are considered and acted upon within agreed timescales.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive team member to have a positive impact on people through their caring, considerate, and patient approach and that are committed to supporting vulnerable people and ensuring they are able to access the support they require to assist them through difficult situations.
Please note you will be working 18-Hours per week on Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday.
About you
Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they meet the following requirements of the post in order to be shortlisted for interview:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to work under pressure and show flexibility in order to meet the needs of the service
Excellent organisational skills
Possess a good understanding of positive team working and to be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with the team, other council services and partner organisations
Experience of working with vulnerable people
Experience of ICT systems
You will be welcomed into a supportive, experienced, and forward-thinking team who can, and do, draw on a wide range of professional and specialist support to ensure excellent outcomes for the people of Salford.
Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £21.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £5.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £21.50
Please note this is a Fixed term position until 31st March 2026 upon employment into this vacancy.
