Summary
Electrical Design Engineer
Skipton, up to 65k DOE
Electrical Design Engineer required to join a special purpose equipment manufacturer working on interesting and challenging standard and bespoke. This is a 360 design role where you will manage projects from conception through to client delivery. We seek candidates able to work independently and produce innovative solutions to design requirements. The roleoffers the opportunity to progress into a lead role long term.
Your role as the Electrical Design engineer will include:
- Gathering a full understanding of project requirements
- Electrical design of standard and bespoke multipurpose machinery
- Producing electrical schematic drawings and BOM's in SolidWorks and E-plan
- Ensuring designs meet client specifications
- Work closely with mechanical and automation teams to ensure good system integration
- Liaise with engineers on the shop floor regarding design and build queries and problems
- Deal directly with customers to discuss project progress, issues and resolutions
Electrical Design Engineer requirements:
- Extensive experience of undertaking full life cycle design projects
- Degree qualified electrical engineer
- Confident experience of producing complex electrical designs for bespoke machinery
- Working knowledge of systems integration with a good appreciation of software and mechanical requirements
- Be able to work in a time pressured environment to strict project deadlines
- Have experience of SolidWorks or E-plan
- Have a flair for development work and be able to communicate problem design ideas and changes effectively
- Have some experience of PLC's ideally Mitsubishi and Siemens (programming skills are not required)
- Be a great communicator
