We are looking for a high performing project delivery professional with experience of delivering digital products and services in line with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management and leadership of the Connectivity Tool project. You will be a senior member of the project team, working with data analysts, planning policy professionals, suppliers and digital to ensure effective project delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Great line management is important to us as an organisation, and we will equip and support line managers to develop the skills set out in the Civil Service Line Management Standards. We aim to empower line managers to create teams where people can flourish and deliver excellent outcomes for the public.

Responsibilities

Include, but not limited to:

  • Leadership: Building and leading an inclusive multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that they are motivated and organised around the development of the Connectivity Tool
  • Delivery management: overseeing delivery using project management tools and techniques including but not limited to change control, stakeholder mapping and engagement, applying the right tools at the appropriate lifecycle phase
  • Responsible for commercial management to get good value out of contracts and suppliers
  • Planning and Scheduling: Develop and manage project plans, outlining key milestones, timelines, and resource requirements for the project. Ensure that progress is tracked and that any delays or risks are escalated appropriately
  • Governance and Reporting: Manage the development and maintenance of governance processes including the preparation of progress reports for senior management and key stakeholders 
  • Develop strong working relationships with DfT’s digital teams and across government to ensure effective joint working
  • Leading teams through the Agile delivery lifecycle and Government Digital Service Standard Assessments
  • Line management of two project team members
