Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Central Engineering Workshop for an individual to join our team of highly skilled engineering technicians engaged in the manufacture of equipment and parts for research and teaching.

We have an experienced, collaborative team of over 120 technical staff, supporting the wider Faculty of Engineering across two of the University campuses. Our technical team work closely with students and staff and engage in a varied portfolio of work across all the University’s engineering disciplines. We believe diverse teams make us stronger. The Role

As a technician specialising in CNC machining (milling and/or turning) you will contribute to the design and manufacture of high-quality parts that support the world changing research and teaching ambitions of the University. You will:

Manufacture components for teaching, research and student projects.
Modify equipment and components based on drawings and verbal instructions.
Use a variety of workshop equipment, including lathes and other techniques as needed.
Give technical advice and assistance to both research and teaching staff and students.
Your Experience

Manual and CNC machining (milling and/or turning)
Experience working in a manufacturing workshop or equivalent.
Attained at least a HNC in an engineering discipline or previously worked in a relevant role.
You may have a working knowledge of CAD programs, such as Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor, or similar (desirable).
