Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

The Estates Assistant is responsible for organising and carrying out effective caretaking, general maintenance and any urgent cleaning of the school to ensure a safe and clean environment at all times. The role will have responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of all health and safety requirements to support the educational needs of the students.

You will have responsibility for site opening and closing, including safety checks to ensure the safety, security and sound condition of the buildings, facilities and grounds.

There may be responsibility for sports lettings, and occasional out of hours and weekend work may also be required.

What you will offer

You will have previous experience in a similar role with an awareness of up to date health and safety legislation. An understanding of pre planned maintenance and statutory testing requirements would be desirable along with basic knowledge of and ability to work with all types of plumbing and electrical maintenance.

You will be working within a dispersed team and so you will need to be confident to instruct sub-contractors to carry out their work according to high working standards, including safety standards.

You will also be available for morning and evening shift working, and to be available for emergency call outs when required.
