Summary
Lead with impact and forge the future of travel tech as Mobile App Developer at Forge Holiday Group
Salary: £30,000 to £50,000 per annum (Dependent on experience, multiple roles available).
Work Days & Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 9:00am until 5:30pm.
Working Policy: Flexible hybrid-working policy, with a minimum of two days a week from our Chester head office.
Team: Software Development Team.
Reports to: Lead Mobile App Developer.

About the Mobile App Developer Role
As a Mobile App Developer, you will be joining our Mobile App Team within our wider Technology Department, responsible for our business-critical mobile apps across multiple brands and affiliates. You will be directly responsible for improving our native mobile apps, optimised for iOS and Android, and will be utilising your development skills to implement and suggest new features based on user testing and customer research. You will also be working closely with the Product team and UX Designers to ensure our customers and owners have the best possible experience.
We have multiple Mobile App Developer positions available, which is why the salary range is broad. We're looking for candidates across various experience levels.
Your Responsibilities:
We are entering the next exciting phase of our technical growth which will see our newest Mobile App Developer:
Work directly on the Forge Holiday Group mobile apps for iOS and/or Android
Develop new features based on user testing and customer research
Develop and test code following best practices
Collaborate with the rest of the Technology and Product teams, taking ideas implemented for the website, analysing them and implementing similar approaches in the mobile apps.
Work with designers to ensure the best experience during booking, holiday planning, on holiday and post-holiday phases of the customer journey.
Essential Experience:
Commercial experience of mobile app development on iOS and/or Android
Understanding of the Mobile App ecosystem for iOS and/or Android
Experience in Swift and Swift UI and/or Kotlin and Compose.
Experience with XCode and/or Android Studio
Bitbucket, Git or other source control systems
Experience working successfully within an Agile Environment
Knowledge of latest changes to Android and/or iOS platforms
Nice to have:
An Undergraduate Degree or equivalent IT qualification in a relevant Computer Science, App Development or IT subject
Experience with Kotlin Coroutines
Experience with Swift Combine and/or Async Tasks
Experience with Java and/or Objective-C
Experience with UIKit and/or XML layouts
Experience using ReactiveX, RxJava, RxSwift etc
Experience using GraphQL or AWS
Experience developing for both iOS and Android platforms
Interest in UX and developing innovative new features
Experience using Bitrise/Fastlane or other CI/CD systems
Understanding and experience of A/B testing methods
Knowledge of modern app architecture and design patterns
Experience publishing apps via the Play Console and/or App Store Connect
Published apps, portfolio or repository of personal projects
Experience working in retail, finance, leisure or travel industry
Exposure to the latest AI tools for developer productivity.
