About the Role:
As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Work directly with students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting them in English language and literature.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Provide targeted intervention for students who need additional support with reading, writing, grammar, and comprehension.
- Lead or support small group sessions and one-to-one tutorials, particularly for students with SEN, EAL, or literacy gaps.
- Help maintain a focused, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Support in lesson planning, resource development, and behaviour management.
- Offer academic and emotional support, acting as a positive role model for students.
English Graduate Teaching Assistant requirements:
- A degree in English Language, English Literature, or a related subject.
- Must have GCSE's and A Levels in English
- A passion for education and supporting young learners.
- A proactive, positive, and flexible approach to working in a busy school setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with young people or in educational settings is desirable (but not essential).
- A long-term interest in pursuing a career in teaching is highly valued.
