Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a paediatric dietitian.We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian with an interest in paediatrics, wanting to learn/ develop their paediatric knowledge/ experience,to join our friendly and dynamic team at the Royal Free North Middlesex University Hospital (NMUH) site. You will have excellent clinical and communication skills. We will consider a less experienced Dietitian to appoint at Band 5, progressing to Band 6 following the successful achievement of Band 6 competencies within one year. This is an ideal opportunity to obtain more experience in paediatrics.The Dietetic Department is part of the Therapies group.

You should have good communication skills, be effective in MDT working, You will be required to train other health professionals. You will be involved in research, audits and other service development initiatives. You will be involved in student training. The dietetic department undertakes student training, and has a robust CPD programme, and are committed to providing excellent line management, supervision/support, specialist training and other forms of CPD. To provide a service to general paediatric inpatient ward.

To provide a service to the Paediatric Assessment Unit.

To conduct audits, and participate in improvement projects and research.

As a specialist dietitian in paediatrics, to work with the supervisor paediatric dietitian, and take responsibility to provide a comprehensive Nutrition and Dietetic Service to the General Paediatric inpatients and outpatients’ service. This includes one general acute ward, the day assessment unit and general outpatient clinics.Training will be provided as required. You will have the opportunity to work with the specialist paediatric dietitians and train in specialist areas such as diabetes, neonatal, allergy, within scope of practice. To be responsible for developing education resources and education programmes for patients, carers, and staff within and out-with the Trust. To be responsible for producing, implementing, and updating policies and procedures. To provide cover for other paediatric services areas as and when required. To regularly participate in research and audit within paediatrics and the wider Dietetic Service. To participate in department seven-day service on a rota basis. To undertake planning, organisation, allocation, and training of student training placements for this area. You will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team and highly developed communication skills is essential for: communicating with patients, carers, and other service users, multidisciplinary team working, close liaison between acute, community and primary care teams.
