Summary
The Urgent Care Centre provides a 7-day a week, 24-hours a day service for 365 days a year working shifts, where appropriate and operationally required with the aim to avoid hospital admission through clinical assessment or streaming to primary care/acute services when possible.
The post holder will be a Registered Specialist Nurse (Advance Nurse Practitioner/Emergency Nurse Practitioner) responsible for patients and will assess, manage, plan and deliver care, including being professionally and legally accountable.
The post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team in delivering services within an Urgent Care setting in a widely diverse locality.
1. Responsible for the day to day management of the Urgent Care Centre service including supervision of the nursing team to ensure smooth operational running of the service.
2. To deputise when required in the team managers absence
3. To have organisational knowledge relating to Trust protocols and procedures and adhere to them
4. To be responsible for providing accurate records of information required by the Trust for audit purposes.
5. To ensure effective risk management at team level by accident/incident reporting, assessing and controlling risk and ensuring residual risks are added to the Trust register.
6. To provide specialist advanced assessment care and treatment to people with attending the Urgent Care Centre and offer advice, guidance and streaming to patients to utilise community and acute areas of care.
