Summary
Primary Purpose
The Records Officer is accountable to the Knowledge & Information Manager (KIM) for the oversight and management of all Records owned by NBC Devonport.
The Records Officer is to ensure compliance with the Public Records Act and relevant MOD Policy. This includes reviewing paper and digital records in accordance with the record lifecycle.
The Records Officer is to regularly review and update current Naval Base Business Processes and the Authorisation Condition Compliance Statements relating to records to ensure compliance with DSA02-DNSR Defence Nuclear Safety Regulations of the Defence Nuclear Enterprise.
The Records Officer is to deputise for the Knowledge & Information Manager at meetings, forums etc in times of absence or as required.
Secondary Purpose
To support the KIM and Senior Information Officer (SIO) in reviewing and updating Authorisation Condition 06 Compliance Statement (ACCS06) – Documents, Records and Certificates, and Naval Base Business Process 20 (NBBP 20) – Management of Records within NBC Devonport.
To be the lead on current and future Electronic Records Management Systems (ERMS) for the Organisation. Provide detailed guidance on how to access NBC Records in the electronic storage and hard copy records held within Babcock Technical Information Centre (TIC).
To continue to build upon existing strong relationships and develop new relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
To deliver Continuous Improvement opportunities, developing and embedding best practice records management policies and procedures across Devonport site.
To implement a records lifecycle, ensuring adequate retention and disposal as and when required.
To act as deputy Data Protection Advisor, conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments and annual reviews, updating the Navy Command Information Asset Register as directed by the KIM.
The postholder must adhere to the NBC(D) Diversity and Inclusion Policy.
