Summary
The successful candidate will be a member of the Aortic Multidisciplinary Team and Guys and St. Thomas NHS Foundation Trust and as such will help manage all aspects of the pathway. They will be exposed to a wide variety of Aortic procedures, both open and endovascular. This job is for a candidate who is extensively trained in vascular surgery (post CCT or equivalent) and is looking for further advanced training in all aspects of complex aortic work in a busy tertiary centre prior to looking for a consultant The applicant is expected to demonstrate interest in and lead the potential research opportunities in the field of aortic disease. There are dedicated research sessions. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake independent clinics whilst still assigned to a consultant supervisor. Duties will include training and mentoring of less experienced colleagues and other staff, participation in clinical audit and in clinical research projects. To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care.
