Summary

The Department for Culture, Media & Sport has an exciting opportunity for a talented communicator to join our small, friendly Digital Communications team.

DCMS is one of Whitehall’s most interesting, varied and fast-paced departments and the Digital Communications team plays an important role in supporting departmental objectives.

The Digital Communications team is responsible for all public-facing communications via DCMS’s online and social media channels, managing all of the Department’s corporate social media channels including on X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube.

We are highly proactive on these channels in leading our ALBs and partners with our campaigns and messages to reach new audiences.

The Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) has an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled digital professional to join our team in one of the most interesting, varied and fast paced Whitehall departments.

We are looking for an experienced and talented professional who’s passionate and experienced about social media content to take on a key role as a Senior Digital Communications Officer as a Creative Content Production Specialist within our award winning digital team.

The successful candidate will be an experienced and resilient team-player who is passionate about their work and specialist skills, demonstrates creative flair and has a track record in delivering high profile and truly engaging video and creative content for social media. Used to working at real pace and able to influence at the highest level, including working with ministers, special advisers and senior officials.

This is a unique opportunity to help present and influence the department’s voice and presence on social media, through video and creative content that inspires people about the work we do. As someone who’s experienced in and driven by how to reach and engage a wide range of communities through social media content, you’ll be crafting high profile and exciting content gathered from out in the field and studio based that demonstrates your experience and innovative approaches to bring the Department’s vision to life. Our priorities range from redefining our national story across creative, arts and heritage sectors to improving access to grass roots sport and making our policies meaningful with everyone. This role requires you to demonstrate your creative expertise by telling these stories through real examples and people.

As a videographer, creative content producer and digital storyteller, you will help set the digital team’s vision for enhancing its channels and content gathering, in compelling ways that unite our policies and ministers with their audiences online, using the latest approaches to ensure our reputation as a trusted voice is upheld while keeping us at the forefront of creative output and engagement in an authentic way.
