Summary


To be an integral member of the Breast Team performing specified diagnostic examinations to ensure the highest standards of care and ‘right first time’. This is a clinical role. The post holder will work in specified areas of the department only and be responsible to qualified Practitioners (Radiographers) for their actions. The post holder will ensure that the patient experience is always at the forefront of their interactions with the client group and will promote and suggest ideas that would transform services to maximize productivity and efficiency.

To be able to use radiographic technique specific to area to acquire required diagnostic images according to protocols and own scope of practice.

To support the Imaging department in order to provide diagnostic imaging for all patient types which are included within own scope of practice.

To plan, organise and prioritise own patient workload.

To ensure that all clinical and other information records are fully and accurately completed including the radiology computer system.

To follow policies and protocols as defined by the local work area, imaging directorate and Trust.

Training to a high standard to be able to produce Mammograms in the Breast Unit.

Will consider trainees who will commence on a Band 3.
