What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher to work in our Rainbow department at Green Wrythe Primary School, a highly specialised resourced provision base for children with austism.
About Us:Green Wrythe Primary is a unique school with two departments, Ark and Rainbow. Our Rainbow department is dedicated to providing specialised education for children with autism. We were rated Good in all areas at our last Ofsted inspection in April 2023.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and inclusive lessons for pupils with autism within the Rainbow department.
• Develop and implement individualised education plans to support the specific needs of each pupil.
• Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure a holistic approach to each child’s education.
• Monitor and track pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages pupil participation and learning.
• Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay updated on SEN education trends.
Experience:
• Experience working with children with autism or within a SEN setting.
• Proven track record of successful teaching in a primary school environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
• Strong knowledge of the autism spectrum and effective teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
Personal Qualities:
• Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• High expectations for all pupils and belief in bringing out the best in each child.
• Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly as part of a team.
