Summary

Job Title: Compliance Manager

Location: Portsmouth (with travel to sites in Portsmouth, Havant, Gosport, Fareham, and Winchester)

Contract: Full time, 37 hours per week, 6 months

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience up to £31.34 per hour

About the Role:

We are seeking a committed and experienced Compliance Manager to lead a newly formed Compliance team within Building Services. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring all statutory compliance duties across nearly 17,000 residential properties and 900 corporate assets.

You will manage and develop a team overseeing key compliance areas such as:

  • Gas servicing and repairs
  • Asbestos management
  • Water quality (Responsible Person for Water Safety)
  • Building health and safety
  • Lift servicing and repairs
  • Mechanical and electrical servicing and maintenance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a high-performing compliance team across multiple technical areas
  • Manage a significant annual budget (c. £10m)
  • Ensure full statutory compliance and 100% certification across services
  • Oversee contract procurement, service delivery, and performance monitoring
  • Provide strategic advice and support to senior leaders and other service areas
  • Foster a culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For:

  • A degree in a property-related field and preferably Chartered (e.g. RICS, CIBSE, IOSH)
  • Strong knowledge of compliance legislation and health & safety standards
  • Experience managing large teams, complex budgets, and strategic service contracts
  • Excellent technical knowledge across compliance areas
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits
