An exciting opportunity has arisen for two individuals keen to develop their neuropsychology skills to join our Neuropsychology Team. The roles involve working within multidisciplinary neurorehabilitaiton teams across Nottinghamshire with individuals with neurological conditions. The post holders will work under the supervision of Consultant or Principal Clinical Psychologists. Candidates will be supported to pursue further training in Neuropsychology and clinical supervision skills. Applications from newly qualified Clinical Psychologists are encouraged and posts will be offered at Band 7 and reviewed with a view to progressing to Band 8a after 12 months. It is proposed that one post is based in the Mid Notts Community Neurorehabilitation Service and the other is split between Sherwood Forest Hospitals Stroke Service and Bassetlaw Long Term Neurological Conditions Team.

The role involves providing specialist neuropsychological assessment and intervention in patient's homes or hospital wards as well as consultation and training to the multidisciplinary team regarding the psychological difficulties arising as a consequence of a neurological condition. The postholder will supervise Assistant Psychologists, Band 7 Clinical Psychologists and Trainee Clinical Psychologists as appropriate and subject to the completion of supervisor training.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

To offer a professional and specialised clinical psychology service to adults with neuropsychological problems. This includes;

Carrying a specialist caseload as an autonomous clinician to provide psychological and neuropsychological assessments and treatments, including assessment of risk to patients.
Planning, organising, delivering and evaluating specialist psychological therapies and programmes of care for individuals and groups including mood and cognition pathways of care.
Providing advice, guidance and consultation in the areas of neuropsychological assessment, physical rehabilitation and physical health psychology
Providing a specialist clinical psychology perspective in complex multi-disciplinary assessments including with outside agencies
Offering advice to other professionals on psychological risk assessment and management
