The Role
You will part of a dedicated Health and Safety Department reporting to the Senior Health and Safety Advisor. You will assist with the planning, developing and organisation of key health and safety functions across the Service.

What You Will Be Working On
Support the implementation of the departmental business plan.
Promoting a positive H&S culture across the Service.
Management and administration of the safety event electronic reporting system, review and monitor progress of all accident/safety event reports and investigation documents.
Providing awareness on the use of the safety event electronic reporting system, including supporting and dealing with requests and query’s relating to system users.
Prepare documentation, coordinate and disseminate documentation for Health and Safety related meetings and act as the minute’s secretary.
Providing administrative support to the Health and Safety team.
Undertake and co-ordinate initial information and data capture for safety events.
Advising on H&S training, managing and co-ordinating its introduction.
Compiling accident reports where required.

What Are We Looking For?
It is an essential requirement to have proven experience of working both independently and as part of a busy team, a good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and willing to work flexibly within the team and have knowledge of a Health and Safety management system. problem solving and decision making whilst working to exacting deadlines. We are looking for someone to support the Health and Safety team in the planning and development of the department strategy and support the implementation of the department business plan.

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this opportunity, you will have a Level 2 standard of education (GCSE or equivalent).
