Summary

Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Location: Redditch
Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager (or nominated deputy)
Salary: £33,000 - £38,000 per annum (dependent on experience)


Role Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment. This role involves hands-on inspection, quality auditing, process monitoring, and supporting the Quality team in maintaining high standards across production.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring products meet both customer specifications and internal quality standards, contributing to continuous improvement efforts and cross-department collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
* Perform product and process audits in line with ISO 9001:2015 and internal procedures
* Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometres, shadowgraphs)
* Assist in generating Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIRs) and conducting Machine Capability Studies
* Support identification and investigation of non-conformances, and assist with corrective and preventive actions
* Provide feedback to production staff to help drive improvements and consistency
* Collaborate with the Despatch team to ensure only compliant, properly labelled product is released
* Communicate effectively with Planning and Purchasing regarding quality-related updates
* Maintain a clean and well-organised workspace, promoting good housekeeping and safety

Person Specification
Essential:
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Proficient with basic measurement tools and inspection techniques
* Good communication skills and ability to work within a team
* Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
* Organised, reliable, and keen to learn
Desirable:
* Apprentice-trained or equivalent practical experience
* Understanding of FMEA, SPC, or other quality tools
* Familiarity with plating, stamping, or working with fine tolerance components
* Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems
