We’re on an exciting journey. With ambitious plans for growth and a brand new three-year grant under our belt, we’re looking for someone with vision and energy to help lead us forward.

As General Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day running of the charity, support our dynamic members, shape campaigns on the issues that matter most, and help grow our reach and voice across Surrey and beyond.

You’ll be employed by our partner organisation, Active Prospects, but dedicated to the Pro-Active Community's mission: empowering our members to speak up and drive change.

PAC is an independent charity with close links to Active Prospects (a separate charity which provides care and support for many of PAC’s members). PAC is a small charity with limited infrastructure and therefore the PAC General Manager will be employed by Active Prospects on behalf of PAC. Pro bono support is provided by several Active Prospects employees.

The PAC General Manager will be encouraged to build new relationships with potential funders, donors and partner organisations, in order to raise new income and raise PAC’s profile.

The main responsibilities:


Lead the day to day management and strategy delivery for the Pro-Active Community.
Organise and attend the delivery of the PAC members meetings including co-ordinating with members and their support staff.
Lead on the development and implementation of a recruitment marketing campaign to attract minimum of 10 new members p/a.
Deliver impact focused skills development programmes for PAC members and wider using the theory of change model.Work with members to develop at least two change campaigns per year including development of messaging, evidence, activities and goals.
Create robust and tailored impact measurement systems for both campaigns and skills development programmes
Lead on the social media strategy and content creation for PAC including creating a suite of templates on canva for consistency.


General responsibilities:


Ensure any information relating to people we support, staff, supporters, partner organisations or the Pro-Active Community is treated in the strictest confidence and in accordance with Data Protection and GDPR legislation, organisational policies and procedures
Undertake mandatory and other agreed training and development activities as required to carry out the duties of the post effectively
Carry out any other duties as requested by your line manager and senior managers of the organisation
Be a positive role model for colleagues and people we support and to represent the organisation in a professional manner.
